Nuri Başoğlu is a professor at İzmir Institute of Technology, Department of Industrial Design and Department of Technology, Design and Innovation Management. At the same time, he carries out various activities on innovation at the university.

His research interests are customer-oriented product design, product management and strategies, technology and innovation management, project management, socio-technical aspects of technology, technology adaptation, human computer interfaces. He supported about 40 theses related to his field, published 4 books and more than 100 researches in academic journals and conferences, and took part in the editorship of academic journals. It has developed/improved 2 different academic units and different units/institutions related to innovation.

He has developed and commercialized some business and project management applications, and has given consultancy to various institutions. He received his BS in Industrial Engineering, and his MS and PhD degrees in Business Administration.
